It’s been a while since I’ve introduced all of you to Shipping Cart (previous blog post here), a service that provides shipping for your online purchases from the US to any point in the Philippines. As of writing, there have been several improvements to the service such as faster package processing times and daily shipments to the Philippines via air cargo, among others. Because of this, I tried their service again to see these improvements for myself! Does it still work well? Let’s find out!
The process remains the same, you will be given a US address when you sign up and you have to input this US address as your shipping address when you checkout in an online shopping site. Then, the seller ships this to your US address and Shipping Cart will notify you once your purchases have been received in their warehouse. They will store your items for you until you pay for shipping.
On the outset, everything is the same. However, the great things are really in the details. The processing of items still involves weighing, photographing, documenting, and encoding the items into the system; however, the processing time for my packages were noticeably faster this time around. The first time I tried their service, I waited 3-5 days for my package to show up in my account’s cart storage (where all of your items will appear). But recently, my package can already be viewed in my cart storage one day after the packages were received in their warehouse. That alone is a huge feat and saves us online shoppers lots of time!
I also tried air cargo for the first time and I was very pleased with the speed of their delivery. The website states that delivery would take 10 days via air cargo, and the notification e-mail they sent also stated the same duration. But I was very surprised that I received my package just 4 days after my package left their warehouse! It’s super quick and convenient, and I would like to add that the package arrived on my doorstep intact; so even if the process was fast, great care was still taken in order to ensure that my items were delivered in good condition.
And one more thing, I also noticed that the package tracking works better this time, but I’m not sure whether this is because I am using air cargo instead of sea cargo. Before, I noticed delays in the tracking, and sometimes the status does not update even though the package was already delivered to me. This can be frustrating especially when you want to know where your package is or when it is going to arrive. But now, tracking is more accurate and more updated. This may be a small thing for some, but it would surely give you peace of mind knowing that your package is safe and will arrive in one piece.
Having said all of this, I still highly recommend Shipping Cart for your online shopping needs, especially now that there’s a plethora of great online shops for guinea pig supplies and accessories! Happy shopping!
